The Embassy of Uganda in Brussels extends its deepest condolences to the family of the late Innocent Mbabali, the Uganda Hockey community, and the Ugandan Community in the Netherlands.

We received distressing news regarding Mr. Innocent Mbabali's critical condition and hospitalization on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, from the Amsterdam University Administration. Immediately, our mission took swift action to locate the family and inform them of this unfortunate situation.

Regrettably, Mr. Innocent Mbabali passed away on Friday, September 22, 2023. The family was promptly notified and provided guidance regarding repatriating his remains to Uganda.

Despite being relatively new to the Netherlands, Innocent had already made a positive impact and was well-regarded by many. We express our gratitude to the community for their unwavering support and efforts in assisting the family during this difficult time and ensuring the repatriation of his body.

The Mission extends its heartfelt appreciation to the family, friends, and the wider community for their compassion, solidarity, and collaborative actions during this challenging period.
