The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hon. Gen. Odongo Jeje Abubakhar participated in the 6th EU-AU Summit in Brussels on 17 and 18 February 2022. The Summit was held with the objective of building a new partnership between Africa and Europe taking into account global challenges such as peace and security, climate change as well as the current health crisis due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Uganda participates in the 6th AU-EU Summit in Brussels from 17-18 February 2022. Matters discussed include: Peace, Security and Governance; Financing for sustainable and inclusive growth; Agriculture and sustainable development; Climate change and energy transition, digital and transport(connectivity and infrastructure), Private sector support and economic integration; Education, culture and vocational training, migration and mobility;and Health systems and vaccine production.

Kick of 6th AU-EU Summit week in Brussels. The Uganda Embassy Brussels co-hosted the Promoting Health and Resilience Through Partnerships, and Innovation event on 15 February 2022 at the EU Thon Brussels.
The Uganda Embassy Brussels held a meeting with OVO (Ondernemers Voor Ondernemers/Entrepreneurs for Entrepreneurs) President, Luc Bonte and Brian Mangeni, Manager of OVO Kampala Office. Achievements of the Engagements with OVO include: 1. Launching Sustech4Uganda program in November 2020 with 17 Uganda SMEs, Uganda Investment Authority (UIA) and Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) 2. Launch of Kampala Impact Day on 30 March 2021. 3. Funding and training-10 SMEs have received loans (5% interest rate per annum). 17 are still being streamlined.
