Uganda Tourist Visa – Single Entry

This visa is granted to travelers coming to Uganda for tourism, medical treatment, family visit etc. this is a single entry visa and can be granted up to 3 months.

NOTE: Visa Approval Authorisation validity is 90 days (three months) from the day of Approval. After that, the Approval Authorisation is automatically cancelled and invalidated and the applicant needs to make a new application. Applicants should always travel within three months of visa approval to avoid this inconvenience

    1. Passport copy (bio-data page) with at least 6 months validity
    2. Tour plan
    3. Travel itinerary / booking
    4. Recent Passport-size Photograph
    5. Vaccination Certificate (Yellow Fever)
    6. Hotel booking or reservation (if any other accommodation, provide an address)
  2. Business (meetings, conferences)
    1. Passport copy (bio-data page) with at least 6 months validity
    2. Letter of invitation with clear address and clearly stating business in Uganda
    3. Recent Passport-size Photograph taken in the last 6 months
    4. Vaccination Certificate (Yellow Fever)
    5. Immigration status of host if individual
  3. Studies
    1. Passport copy (bio-data page) with at least 6 months validity
    2. Letter of invitation from the school
    3. Recent passport size photograph
    4. Admission letter from the school
    5. Vaccination Certificate (yellow fever)
    6. Status of host in Uganda
  4. Family Visit
    1. Passport copy (bio-data page) with at least 6 months validity
    2. Letter of invitation
    3. Immigration status of the host
    4. Recent Passport-size Photograph
    5. Vaccination Certificate (Yellow Fever)
    6. Hotel booking or reservation (if any other accommodation, provide an address)
    7. Status of host in Uganda
  5. Former Ugandan Visiting Family 
  1. Passport copy (bio-data page) with at least 6 months validity
  2. Recent Passport-size Photograph
  3. Vaccination Certificate (Yellow Fever)
  4. The applicant must select former Ugandan visiting family on the purpose of travel.

Fees

The visas cost USD 50.

  1. Visa Fees are non-refundable and all payments are subject to a bank charge.
  2. Language; all documents attached should be in English.
  3. Other documents may be required during the process

Steps for Application

A guide on how to apply, renew or replace any immigration facility.

  • Step 1: Log into the Immigration Portal and select start new application
  • Step 2: Accept the terms and conditions displayed in the Disclaimer.
  • Step 3: Select the visa or permit type, category and sub category
  • Step 4: Complete the application form
  • Step 5: Upload the required documents; a six-digit application ID eg. (234790123) is automatically generated as the reference number
  • Step 6: Make payment for applications that require prepayment.
  • Step 7: Upon approval, for application that don’t require top up payment, an approval letter will be generated and emailed to the applicant on the home page
  • Step 8: Upon approval, make a top up payment for applications that require a top up payment. After payment an approval letter is generated and emailed to the client
  • Step 9: Report to the immigration office/ border for biometric capture with all documents uploaded, payment receipts, approval letter and passport
  • Step 10: Where applicable visit the Embassy to collect your visa sticker if you reside close to the Embassy. (this is not mandatory)

Renewal

The initial period granted at entry may be extended for another 60 days in 2 intervals. This can be done online or manually at the Headquarters and the Regional Immigration offices
