The EU Parliamentary Committee on Development headed by MEP Hon. McEvan invited Amb. Blaak and Mr. Balde of UNHCR Geneva in the morning of 18 May 2018 to make interventions on refugees in Uganda after the visit of the Committee to Uganda last week.

In 8th March 2018 Uganda's Lady Justice Salomy Bossa was sworn in as Judge at the ICC in The Hague, the Netherlands. She was elected by the 16th Assembly of States Parties in New York in December 2017 for a period of 9 years.

Commemorating the 20th anniversary of the Rome Statute, the President of the Assembly of States Parties to the ICC, 10 States Parties, and the Trust Fund for Victims conclude a joint programme monitoring visit to Uganda

From 19-23 February 2018, the Government of Ireland and Trust Fund for Victims (TFV) at the International Criminal Court (ICC) led a joint monitoring visit to northern Uganda.
The monitoring visit, initiated by the Government of Ireland, was aimed at reviewing the implementation of TFV projects in northern Uganda, meeting with victim survivors and affected communities who have been receiving the support from the TFV, and hearing how the assistance has made positive impacts to them.

AMBASSADOR BLAAK MEETS WAGENINGEN UNIVERSITY OFFILCIALS

Today 18th January 2018 Amb Blaak, Brussels had a meeting in the Netherlands with Wageningen university officials to brainstorm on developing a programme to combat the "false coddling moth", which is rampant in roses and capsicum exported into the EU and causes many consignments to be rejected as being non compliant with EU phytosanitary standards.

An annual competition by Dutch embassy, DFCU/Rabo bank and KLM resulted in a working visit by 13 winning farmers to the Netherlands. Amb Blaak met the group and encouraged the Ugandan farmers to take advantage of the opportunities offered to them during this important visit
